Tips on How to use Affiliate Marketing Effectively
If you are using or recommending any applications or products in your practice you should consider taking a look at Affiliate Marketing. If affiliate marketing is done effectively you can start receiving some nice residual income for your efforts.
Doing a simple Google search: definition of affiliate marketing I found the following definition on Wikipedia:
Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate’s own marketing efforts.
It is very easy to get started with affiliate marketing. You should first take a look at the vendor’s website and look for any affiliate or partner information. If you do not see anything listed on their website then send them an email. To let the vendor know that you are a credible reseller of their product you should let them know that you have evaluated their product, if you have used the product and what you like about their product. It is not a good way to start off a partnership by indicating that you have not yet even tried their product but want to know if you have an affiliate program….
If the vendor does have an affiliate program they will typically provide you with a unique URL that will identify any visitors that originate from your website that ultimately make a purchase. Then periodically the vendor will send you an affiliate payment.
From the results that I have seen from our Transaction Pro affiliate members I can provide the following feedback:
Tip 1: Do not overload your website with affiliate links. If your website is found often times people will wonder if you have even used the product.
Tip 2: Do not just copy verbatim from the vendor’s website. Your content needs to be original. In addition before you add any images from the vendor’s website to your own website check in with them to see if this is allowed as some images might be copyrighted. Tip 3: Provide real life examples of how you have used the product and why you recommend it. Not only will this increase the number of click throughs from your site to the vendors but it also could result in some additional consulting work. Often times businesses are not only looking for a solution but they are looking for assistance in implementing the selected solution.
