How far are you willing to go to succeed?

Are you willing to get up at 4 am? 5? 6? How far are you willing to go to succeed? Will you put in the time even thought it means sacrificing certain things? Fights with your significant other over your time? Can you take it?

One of my favorite scenes in one of my favorite movies is with Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro on Heat. They’re taking to one another and All Pacino asks Robert DeNiro why he doesn’t want a “regular type life,” and the reference is made to baseball and barbecues. DeNiro asks him if this “regular type life” is his life. Pacino acknowledges that it isn’t because he’s too busy chasing around bad guys like DeNiro. The irony is that here you realize how similar tresses two are. They’re both really good at what they do because they both spend most of their waking hours doing it.

The greatest athletes of all time are the greatest because they sacrificed everything to be the greatest.

So what are you willing to sacrifice in order to achieve the kind of success that puts all financial worries behind you? Sleep? Time with loved ones?

How far will you go? I’ve been up since 6 today. It’s now 11:45 pm, I’ve been at it all day and I’m just winding down now. How about you? Would you or do you put in days like that too get to where you really want to be?
