This question was posted in the Intuit Community. How to customize sales receipts in QuickBooks online. IntuitKatieT gave an answer, however her answer works only if you have the new company settings interface. Many of us still have the old interface which means that there is a different way to customize sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
The user who asked the question apparently works with a non-profit so she did not want her sales receipt to say, “Sales Receipt.” She wanted it to say “Donation.” This makes sense as she points out, “It is very inappropriate to issue a “Sales Receipt” for a donation.” The good news is that you can not only customize the sales receipt in QuickBooks Online, you can very specifically customize it for a donation. I’m not sure why the support person she called didn’t tell her that.
This is just one example of many reasons why you want to be able to customize sales receipts in QuickBooks Online and other forms as well. In the end you want to be able to deliver a consistent experience for your customers in terms of how you relate to them and these little things matter. For this reason it is important to know how you can customize sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
To customize sales receipts in QuickBooks Online with the older settings interface you have to go to the company menu at the top right and then choose company settings. From there you will choose “Sales Form Delivery.” There you will see a button that says “Customize.” From there it is pretty straightforward and of course, my video here will show you exactly what it looks like when you want to customize your sales receipt in QuickBooks Online.
