We discuss accounting technology applications and of course, now that QuickBooks 2015 is here, this has been one of the topics for the past two weeks. The very first question that came up was how to get rid of the shading on invoices. This shading now appears by default on alternating rows on the invoice form. We checked what seemed like the obvious place for this option – in the invoice template customization area. No matter how hard we looked, we could not find the answer to how to get rid of the shading on invoices in QuickBooks 2015.
I offered an alternative solution to the problem by putting something on the invoice to distract people from the shading. I also tried downloading and using a non-standard invoice template:
As you can see this is not an effective solution for getting rid of the shading on invoices in QuickBooks 2015! Fortunately I have many friends around the world on the internet who help me and look out for me. One of them lives practically in my own backyard. His name is James Cliame and he e-mailed the solution to me after the second of two hangouts in which we struggled to fund where the option was to change this. We figured it had to be there, but where? Could intuit have simply stuck us with this formatting on all invoices and no option for how to get rid of the shading?
